Meet Dr. Stephanie Gandy

Finding a good veterinarian is like finding a good mechanic – they are both worth their weight in gold.
Once found, the best thing to do is to stick your fingers through their belt loops, hang on for dear life, and don’t let go.
For us, that veterinarian is Dr. Stephanie Gandy at Catisfaction Cat Clinic in Madison, Alabama.
To say, “Thank you,” to Dr. Gandy for what she did for Little Man and me is not nearly enough. She really did go out of her way to care for him – even though I drove her crazy every step of the way.
But her efforts didn’t stop once she saved Little Man’s life. She was instrumental in helping me keep accurate the medical aspects of Little Man’s ordeal for my book, Mighty Little Man.
But there’s more.
When I gave her the first draft of the manuscript, she liked it, but said, “I don’t like the subtitle.” At the time, I was working under a subtitle like, “The true story of one cat’s incredible struggle to survive ….” We bounced a couple of ideas back and forth with no luck. Finally, she said, “I think you’re missing the point. The story is not just about Little Man. It should be about YOU and Little Man.” That’s when I came up with, “My Story, His Story, Our Story.” Dr. Gandy loved it – and the rest is history.

She even wrote a blurb about the book when it was finished:
“A heart-warming story about a unique man who as a boy witnessed a tragic event that shapes his outlook of the human-animal bond forever. "Jonny’s persistence, determination, and positive outlook of life not only guide him through the Air Force and family affairs, but also through a humorous story involving an innocent stray kitten and lime sulfur that turns his home upside down. "You will witness just how far one will go to save his companion even when the odds are against them—and that “real men do love cats.” Jonny is rarely without a smile on his face, and as you get to know him you will quickly realize his heart is twice the size of that smile! Not only am I fortunate to have Jonny as a client, I am also thankful and blessed to call him a friend.” — Stephanie Gandy, DVM, Catisfaction Cat Clinic, Madison, Alabama Visit her website.
